Elite athlete field eligibility:
To be eligible for prize money and elite status, elite runners must:
- Be a current USA citizen.
- Have a current 2026 USATF membership.
- Provide a qualifying time equal to or better than the times listed.
Qualifying times:
- Women: Sub 33:30
- Men: Sub 30:00
- The Elite Coordinator reserves the right to include other selected applications.

Elite athlete support assistance:
- Housing and travel assistance will be based on 10K qualifying times or equivalent.
- Qualifying times must be achieved from September 2024 to August 2026.
- All support assistance will be allocated at the sole discretion of the Elite Coordinator.
Athlete housing:
Athletes will be housed with local families as part of our renowned host family program. Athletes looking to take advantage of this "Best in Class" experience are required to be officially registered to race by September 3rd.
There are a limited amount of houses available. Athlete's race information, such as their qualifying times or other factors will be used to determine housing eligibility. Lodging will be provided for up to 3 nights (arriving no sooner than Thursday), housing allocation and placement is at the sole discretion of the elite coordinator and host family housing team.
Athlete travel:
All Fly In Athletes must fly in and out of JFK and will be instructed on how to use the AirTrain and the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) to arrive into Huntington on Thursday. Transportation will be provided to your host family. Athletes who fly into LGA will need to arrange their own transportation. After officially registered our housing team will be in contact with you.
Transportation will be provided from your host family house to and from the race sight Saturday morning. We will offer assistance to get athletes back to the airport Saturday evening for flights no sooner than 5:00PM
Invited athlete itinerary & event schedule
Mandatory: technical meeting, check-in and number pick-up:
- Friday, September 18th: American Legion located at 7 Woodside Avenue, Northport • 5:00pm: Technical meeting • 5:30pm: Pasta dinner
Saturday, September 19th: William J Brosnan building on Laurel Avenue, rear entrance
6:00-7:30AM: Check in
10K Elite race start:
The starting line is located in front of the William J Brosnan Building on Laurel Avenue
- Elite Women - 8:30 a.m.
- Elite Men - 8:30 a.m.
Awards ceremony:
- The award ceremonies will begin at 10:30 a.m. following the race.
- The ceremony will be held on the gazebo in Northport Village Cow Harbor Park.
- Top 10 awards will be distributed.
- Top 10 prize money will be mailed as soon as we receive Drug testing clearance.
- All invited athletes are also invited to the post race Elite and Host Family Volunteer party starting at 1:00 p.m. on race day (1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.).
